Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras Means Eat, Eat, Eat!

There’s a reason the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is called Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras, it’s eat, drink, and be merry time–for tomorrow we fast! Being Catholic and having married a guy who grew up near New Orleans, I know that Tuesday really is a great day to indulge.

My husband, Alan is from New Orleans, well Slidell, Louisiana. There’s nothing quite like the food locals eat–and they really DO enjoy their ethnic Cajun dishes. One of his first jobs was at Kelly’s Catfish Corner, prepping hush puppies.

Those beads, by the way, are properly referred to as “throws”. Wear ’em and look racy!
