Celebrities, Contestants And Fans React To The Passing of Alex Trebek

Jeopardy! fans across the globe are mourning the death of host Alex Trebek, whose death was announced yesterday, Nov. 8.

According to an official statement released by the “Jeopardy!” Twitter account, he passed away surrounded by his family and friends.

The beloved, long-time game show revealed in March of last year that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Soon after his passing was announced, tributes began pouring in.

Ellen DeGeneres chimed in on Twitter, saying, “Alex Trebek hosted Jeopardy for 36 years. What an incredible career and remarkable life. I’m sending love to his family and fans.”

Ryan Reynolds also shared a memory of Trebek while they were on the set of his latest movie.

Famed contestants of the contestants, Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer, also saluted Trebek.

As a mainstay on Canadian and American television since the ’70s, Trebek hosted more than 8,000 episodes of “Jeopardy!” and had planned to stay on the program through 2022.

He filmed his final episodes on October 29.

Fittingly, his final episode will air on Christmas day.
