9/11 Memorial Services Include Walks, Tributes, Service Project

You can pay your respects to those lost in the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks by attending a special memorial service. In Santa Clara County they include (by time):

9 a.m. SUNNYVALE: Pay tribute to those who lost their lives with a memorial in front of the Sunnyvale Public Safety Headquarters, 700 All America Way.

9 a.m. PALO ALTO: Here’s a National Day of Service with a pruning and tree care event by Canopy. It takes place at Brentwood Elementary School, 2086 Clarke Avenue.

11:30 a.m. SAN JOSE: A memorial procession in downtown San Jose will begin at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph (80 S. Market St.) and proceed to the San Jose Fire department (225 N. Market St.). Arrive at 11 a.m.

1:30 p.m. PALO ALTO: Join a multi-faith peace walk and picnic sponsored by the American Muslim Voice, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors’ President Dave Cortese, and Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice. The walk begins at 4161 Alma St. at 1:30 and ends with a picnic at Mitchell Park, 600 E. Meadow Drive at 4 p.m.
