After being on the brink of shutting down, AMC Theaters announced their plans for reopening during this pandemic.
They will be reducing its seating capacity to keep in line with social distancing, performing new cleaning procedures, placing hand-sanitizing stations throughout their theaters and implementing contact-less and cash-free concessions.
Their one, big, eye-catcher though?
They won’t be requiring face masks from moviegoers.
“We did not want to be drawn into a political controversy,” AMC CEO Adam Aron told Variety. “We thought it might be counterproductive if we forced mask wearing on those people who believe strongly that it is not necessary.”
However, AMC Employees will be required to wear face coverings. If you forget yours at home, they will have masks available to purchase for only $1.
