One of the biggest questions in reopening during the pandemic is how gyms and fitness centers would handle the transition?
Well, a gym in Redondo Beach, CA is taking some big steps in making sure its customers have space and protection from each other.
Inspire South Bay Fitness has set up individual workout pods made out of shower curtains and pods that will include their own bench and set of free weights.
Gym owner Peet Sapsin said it took three days to build the pods, which are around 6 feet wide and 10 feet tall. He came up with the idea the construct the pods after his clients complained about working out with masks on.
Upon arrival, clients are asked to use hand sanitizer and get their temperatures taken with a touchless gun.
Sapsin said the response has been extremely positive.
“A lot of our clients have been quarantined for three months. They’re restless. They’re anxious. A lot them have gained weight. They were more than excited to get back in a safe way.”
