After 25 seasons on the air, Judge Judy will wrap up production in 2021, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Set to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, the woman behind the bench herself, Judy Sheindlin, will break the news.
“Next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary, and CBS, I think felt they wanted to optimally utilize the repeats of my program,” she says in the taped segment.
However, that won’t be the last we’ll see of the famous TV judge.
Sheindlin announced that she has a new show in the works and it’ll be called “Judy Justice”.
“The following couple of years, you should be able to catch all the reruns that CBS has sold to the stations that are currently carrying ‘[Judge] Judy’ and ‘Judy Justice’ will be going elsewhere. Isn’t that fun?” she added.
Unfortunately, Sheindlin didn’t disclose where her new show would air.
“Judge Judy” premiered in 1996 and has won multiple Emmy Awards.
