Did NASA Capture an Image of A Star Wars TIE Fighter?

You got to see it to believe it.

NASA photographer Joel Kowsky’s June 24th image of the International Space Station had Star Wars fans fearing the dark side!

Kowsky’s amazing composite photo shows the ISS looking just like one of the Galactic Order’s TIE fighters from the historic film franchise. The photo is made up of six frames showing the ISS in silhouette as it moved across the sun “at roughly 5 miles per second.”

The solar panels on the ISS bare a striking resemblance to TIE fighter’s wings as it crosses the face of our sun.

The photography force is strong with Kowsky.

If you’ve never got the chance to see the ISS with your own or on camera, you can visit NASA’s Spot The Station page to receive alerts when it’s above your skies.
