It’s time to get the popcorn and the gummy bears ready!

With both San Mateo County and Marin County dropping into the Red-Tier, Cinemark Theaters have announced that they will reopen locations in those respective areas.

When a county moves into the red tier…

  • Gyms and fitness studios can open indoors starting at 10% capacity
  • Restaurants can open indoors starting at 25% capacity or 100 people, whichever is fewer
  • Movie theaters can reopen starting at 25% capacity
  • Retail stores can bump capacity up to 50%, including malls
  • Museums can open indoors at 25% capacity

Starting tomorrow, Feb. 26, Cinemark will reopen their locations in Redwood City, San Bruno and San Rafael.

Additional locations in Daly City, Novato, San Mateo and San Rafael will open starting Friday, Mar. 5.

The company said its measures to prevent the spread of the virus include disinfecting theaters between screenings, staggered show times and limited capacities. Face masks are mandatory for all moviegoers and employees.

Will you visit a Cinemark theater once they reopen?
