Golden State Warriors’ Star Andrew Wiggins Remains Unvaccinated; Putting Status With Team In Jeopardy

As the Golden State Warriors prepare for the upcoming season, they face a lot of questions.

Such as…

When will Klay Thompson finally make his return?…Can Stephen Curry have another MVP-caliber season?…Will they be able to return to championship form?

But now they’re facing another big one.

Will they have swingman Andrew Wiggins available for the start of the new season?

In the offseason, Wiggins has spoken about choosing not to be vaccinated and since then, his stance has not changed.

Why is this a big deal?

Because starting on Oct. 13, operators and hosts of indoor mega events in San Francisco will be required to be fully vaccinated in order to enter their facilities. This includes not just games at Chase Center, but team workouts, as well, and it applies to players.

Assuming Wiggins remains unvaccinated before the start of the season, he would require a medical or religious exemption in order to play in the Warriors’ home games.

The Warriors even connected Wiggins with a doctor in Oakland to discuss the hesitancy in getting the vaccine, but he did not change his stance.

Wiggins helped provide a scoring pop for the Dubs last season when he averaged 18.6 points per game.

I even wrote a little poem about this for Wiggins.

Not in the limo, not in a car,
Not in the locker room, not in a bar.
I won’t get it with Draymond or with Klay or with Steph,
Not with the coach or the trainers or ref,
Not on the team plane or on the team bus.
Oh why is everyone making this fuss?
I think that this vaccine might just be a scam
So I will not get this shot, Fauci, I am.

The Warriors’ kick off the preseason on October 4.
