Lance Bass Busts Anti-Maskers Attempting To Fool Us With Fake Exemption Cards

Have you seen one of these Fake Face Mask Exempt Cards? They’re showing up all over the U.S. now that more Americans are being required to wear masks to stop the spread of COVID-19. These cards were crafted to fool people into allowing anti-maskers access to their businesses. Their “Freedom to Breathe Agency,’ or ‘FTBA,” is nothing more than a Facebook group, not a government agency. The cards include a warning of a hefty fine.

Singer, Lance Bass got a hold of a fake face mask exempt card and Tweeted, “HEADS UP fellow businesses…. This is not a thing. This is what happens when Arts and Crafts Karens have too much time on their hands. We will throw it in the trash and send them on their way.”

There are true exceptions in California for not wearing a face mask:

  • Persons age two years or under due to the risk of suffocation.
  • Persons with a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability that prevents wearing a face covering.
  • People who are deaf/have hearing loss and those who communicate with them if seeing someone’s mouth is essential.
  • Workers who would violate workplace safety rules by wearing one.
  • Those eating and drinking at restaurants.
  • Persons walking, hiking, biking, swimming, running or doing other outdoor activity where they can stay 6 feet from others.
  • People in jails and prisons, which have their own guidance on face coverings.
