Wheel of Fortune taped their shows earlier in the year.
An episode from earlier this year, recently aired this past Thursday.
The winner of that show, Arzo Mehdavi of Hayward, held a virtual watch party for her appearance.
At the end of the episode, the show posted a special thank you video to her because she is an emergency room nurse.
In addition to winning over $56k, she also got a sweet surprise while watching the episode with her friends and family in a virtual watch party on Zoom, a visit from Vanna White.
White surprised Mehdavi and her crew with the virtual drop-in visit, to congratulate the winner and chat with her guests.
“If I can bring her any kind of joy for all the hard work and dedication she has given to so many, I would do it a thousand times,” White said. “It’s just overwhelming what they are doing, so it makes me feel so good to give back just a touch. It’s nothing for what they do for us.”
The star also made sure to note that the hard work and sacrifices being made by everyone on the front lines at this time cannot go unnoticed and that the surprise video call was just her small way of showing support.
Mehdavi was grateful for the surprise and said that her appearance on one of her favorite game shows has actually helped her get through these difficult and stressful times.
“[Being on Wheel] is such a happy memory for me, and waiting for the show to air has given me something fun to look forward to,” she explained.
On top of being an ER Nurse, Mehdavi has also served as Community Services Commissioner in Hayward.
