Meet Peanut Butter & Jelly! The Two Turkeys Who Are Getting A Thanksgiving Pardon From President Biden!

What a pair of turkeys!

Today, two turkeys from Indiana, one named Peanut Butter, the other named Jelly – will be counting their lucky feathers!

They were selected as the pair of birds to be pardoned by President Joe Biden in the annual White House tradition.

Before the ceremony, Peanut Butter and Jelly received the red carpet treatment at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C.

After the pardon, the pair will live out the rest of their days in Purdue University’s Animal Science Research and Education Center, where they’ll be given an enclosed, indoor space with access to a “shady, grassy area,” according to a press release.

The practice of sending a turkey to a farm became tradition under President Ronald Reagan but became an annual event under President George H.W. Bush in 1989.
