Now’s The Time For Whale Spotting! Numerous Humpback Whales Have Been Seen Feeding In Monterey Bay!

How cool is this?!

Since reopening in June, Captain Michael Sack with Sanctuary Cruises, has taken whale watchers within feet of humpback whales in Monterey Bay!

Stuck the landing. 10/10 with the judges.

And while it might not sound like nothing new, Sack says there are more calves amongst the colony of creatures.

“Seems like this year we’ve had more calves than I believe we’ve had in past years,” said Sack. “For us it’s pretty neat to see. We’re as excited as can be to just be seeing it every day.”

Roughly seven miles off the coast, the whales have been passing by in droves.

According to marine experts, this is the prime time for whale spotting up and down the coast between San Francisco and Monterey Bay because the whales are feeding almost 24 hours a day!

And in case you’re wondering, Sack says he’s still offering tours but group sizes have been cut in half and masks and social distancing is required.

Have you ever been whale watching?
