Bye-bye Bahamas!

Three weeks after reopening to travelers, American tourists are being banned from the Bahamas because of a spike in COVID-19 cases.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said the situation has deteriorated, “at an exponential rate since we reopened our international borders.”

In addition, the country’s national airline will stop taking to the US and international flights and boats carrying passengers will not be allowed to enter the area.

Minnis added that to accommodate departing tourists, outgoing commercial flights will be permitted after Wednesday.

No word yet on how long the restriction will be in place.
