Now we know the sad “family emergency” that caused Tears For Fears to cancel their summer concert tour with Hall & Oates. Tears For Fears co-founder Roland Orzabal’s longtime wife Caroline died on July 7th of what’s reported as natural causes.

The couple were married for 35 years and had 2 children. Orzabal (on the left in the picture) is said by friends to be “absolutely devastated” by the tragedy.

Caroline was described as his “soulmate” and “constant companion,” and was an inspiration for many of his Tears For Fears songs.

Orzabal is expected to take the stage for the first time since his wife’s death Friday night in London.
