The SpaceX “Tourist” Crew On The Inspiration4 Returned Safely On Saturday!

After spending three days on an orbital excursion, the civilian crew of SpaceX’s “Inspiration4” landed back safely on Saturday night.

The crew made a splash landing on the coast of Florida and were met almost immediately by SpaceX rescue boats.

The team was led by billionaire Jared Isaacman, 38, chief executive of the e-commerce firm Shift4 Payments Inc, who acted as the mission commander.

“Thanks so much SpaceX, it was a heck of a ride for us,” Isaacman can be heard saying through the company livestream.

The flight was nearly flawless with only one technical issue.

I’ll spare you the dreaded details but long story, short: “waste management issues.”

The trip marks the third time Elon Musk’s company has taken humans to space and back.

Upon their arrival, he tweeted:

SpaceX already has contracts for five other private missions, as well as at least four additional NASA-contracted missions.
