India has only had a small number of cases of the coronavirus but it isn’t stopping them from trying to prevent more cases occurring.
One of the country’s most common remedies for different diseases is using cow urine.
And now, the Bharatiya Janata Party has suggested that drinking the urine could help prevent the spread of the coronavirus because of its antibacterial products. There’s even been a drinking contest in Delhi, the country’s capital, to help promote the usage.
However, there are conflicting reports that there is no such proof.
Dr. Shailendra Saxena, of the Indian Virological Society, told BBC News: “There is no medical evidence to show that cow urine has anti-viral characteristics.”
