Michael Dorf Presents
Van Morrison will be the subject of the latest in the series of star-studded annual tribute concerts presented by New York City entrepreneur Michael Dorf at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
The show, dubbed “The Music of Van Morrison,” is scheduled for March 21, and will feature performances by Richard Marx, Marc Cohn, Shawn Colvin, Bettye Lavette, Glen Hansard of The Frames and Swell Season, and Gaslight Anthem singer Brian Fallon, among others. Additional performers will be announced soon.
General admission tickets are available at the Carnegie Hall box office and CarnegieHall.org, while VIP packages can be purchased at MusicOf.org.
All of the proceeds from the concert will go toward various music-education programs for underprivileged children and young people.
Among the artists who have been the subject of previous “Music Of” shows: The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Elton John, R.E.M., The Who, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell.
In addition to organizing the concerts, Dorf is the founder of the City Winery chain of music clubs.
