Out with the new and in with the new!
First, it was the drive-in theatres, now it’s vinyl albums!
According to Nielsen Music, U.S. vinyl sales have hit a record high over Christmas!
More than 1.8 million LPs were sold in the week leading up to Christmas – that’s the most since Nielsen began tracking album sales electronically back in 1991.
Even cooler, more than 40 percent of those sales came from independent record stores – pretty impressive during a pandemic.
Vinyl also outsold CDs by nearly 170,000 last week – the fourth time that’s happened in 2020.
