Warriors Attempting To Fill The Void Left By Klay Thompson’s Injury By Acquiring Kelly Oubre Jr. In A Trade With The Oklahoma City Thunder

After learning the unfortunate news that star Klay Thompson will miss another season with a torn achilles tendon, the Golden State Warriors made a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder for fifth-year player, Kelly Oubre Jr.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Thunder will receive a protected first-round pick from Golden State in return.

Oubre was selected 15th overall out of the University of Kansas in the 2015 NBA Draft.

He spent his first three seasons in the league with the Washington Wizards and the last two with the Phoenix Suns.

He was then dealt from Phoenix to OKC on Monday before being acquired by the Dubs.

In his last season with the Suns, Oubre averaged 18.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists before his year was cut short with an injury.

In addition to getting Oubre, the Warriors selected University of Memphis center James Wiseman with the 2nd overall pick on Wednesday’s 2020 NBA Draft.

The 2020-21 NBA season is set to start on December 22.

How do you think the Warriors will do this season?
