With Memorial Day just right around the corner, it usually means mini road trips or vacations are on the horizon.
But before you hit the road, you have to make sure to gas up.
Unfortunately though, this year, you’re going to have to pay a little bit more for the gallon.
Gas stations around the Bay Area, most notably in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose have seen prices reach as high as $4.25 per gallon!
And while it’s not unusual to see prices get this high around this time of year, the rise in prices is especially high right now considering demand for gas dropped due to stay-at-home orders last year.
According to AAA, high gas prices are not likely to stop drivers from traveling on the roads this Memorial Day weekend. In addition, they say car travel is actually expected to increase more than 50% from last year.
